It’s been a while since I made the Honeycomb Pattern Notebooks tutorial, and I’m still on this geometric craze. I’ve been wanting to translate this onto my walls, so here’s my first crack at it. I haven’t used my watercolor set in a while, so I thought I’d take to the brush as well.
I painted freehand, and did some sort of marble effect using purples and blues. I really really like this palette.
Once dried, I used my Cricut Explore to cut out even hexagons. You can always cut your shapes manually, though!
I then chose a few sheets of cardstock in the same color scheme, and cut them in the same hexagon shape and size.
I planned out my design, making sure no two same-colored hexagons were adjacent to each other.
Then, up on my walls they went. Don’t the watercolor pieces add a unique touch?
