Need a simple and cute holder for carrying around your business cards? How about a quick adorable envelope for giving gift cards as presents? Here’s an origami tutorial, so easy, you’ll be folding away in no time.
Start out with a rectangular sheet of paper. For business cards and gift cards, start out with 7.5 x 9 inch sheet of paper. For custom sizes, take the dimensions of your card and go by this formula: (1) Paper Width = (Card Width x 2) + 1/2-inch allowance; and (2) Paper Length = (Card Length x 4) + 1-inch allowance.
Step One: Fold the sheet of paper in half, but making sure only to crease the edges. There is no need to crease all across the spine.
Unfold.
Fold the right edge towards the center crease.
Repeat with the left side.
Make sure your edges meet up perfectly. This center will be visible! Unfold.
Make corner dog-ear folds. Fold until the edges meet the quarter creases.
Repeat with all corners.
Next, fold the entire sheet in half, crosswise.
Make sure the edges line up perfectly.
Unfold. Fold the right edge back towards the center.
Repeat with the left side.
Make sure everything still aligns perfectly.
Flip the sheet over. Next, fold the bottom edge towards the center fold.
Repeat with the top edge.
The edges don’t need to meet up perfectly. We’ll be covering those edges up!
Cut another sheet of paper in pretty much the same size. Use a different but complimentary print to make things interesting!
Insert the small strip into the pockets.
Adorbz, right?
Fold it in half.
And use! 🙂
