Here I go with my origami streak once again! Want to display your photos using nothing but scrap pieces of decorative paper? Here’s an origami photo stand you can use to display your favorite memories. Read on to learn how.
I shared this easy craft at my first event with Instax. I really love how useful these origami photo stands are. For this tutorial, I used my favorite DCWV Girlhood Stack. You won’t break the bank with this tutorial. A sheet or two will go a long, long way.
For these photo frame stands, start out with a rectangular sheet of paper. Make sure the rectangle’s longer side is twice as long as the short side. A 1.5-inch x 3-inch rectangle is perfect for instax prints.
Step one: Fold the rectangle in half.
Unfold, then make a dog-ear fold. Bring the bottom left corner to meet the center mark.
Repeat on the other side, going in the opposite direction. Fold the top right corner towards the center fold.
You should end up with a parallelogram shape like this.
Rotate the paper slightly, in a counter-clockwise direction.
Take the leftmost corner, and fold towards the center.
Repeat with the other side.
Undo the last fold. You should end up with a right triangle on the bottom.
Fold the right triangle upwards.
Next, take the loose end and tuck it into the last fold you made.
There should be a pocket that perfectly fits the loose end. You will end up with a triangle.
Fold the triangle in half.
All done! You will see small pockets where you can insert your prints.
Repeat in all colors!
Display your favorite photos!
