Last year, I opted for Face Towel Easter Bunny egg carriers. This time, I wanted to keep things simple. I wanted to go through my scrapbook paper stash. So, I went with these Origami Easter Egg Stands instead. Read on to learn how to make these tiny little carriers.
Start out with a 4-inch square sheet of paper. If you’re using decorative paper, you might want to play around with which side faces up. Refer to the kraft and purple sides of paper on this tutorial.
Start out by folding the square in half.
Unfold, and refold the other way.
Next, you will fold the sheet into quarters, using the middle fold as your guide.
Make sure to keep the open side on the bottom.
Make dog ear folds on the closed fold side of the sheet.
Repeat on the other side.
Unfold one dog ear, and fold it down until it looks like a house’s roof.
Repeat on the other side.
Next, flip the sheet over.
Take the right flap and fold it over.
Repeat on the other side.
Again, make dog ear folds. This time with the bottom corners.
Repeat on the other side.
Hold onto both dog ears (now a triangle).
Fold the triangle over.
Flip the sheet over, and repeat. Make a dog ear fold with the bottom right corner.
Repeat on the left side.
Hold onto the dog ears, and fold the triangle up and over.
You should end up with something like this.
Much like the paper hats you used to make as a kid, open up the base.
Pull apart gently.
Once open, push the top fold to form something like a bowl. This is where your easter egg will be placed.
Pretty simple, right?
Place your decorated eggs on these Origami Easter Egg Stands, and you’re all good to go!
