This past Sunday was spent crafting with a bunch of other crafters, newbies and experts alike. I shared my inherited pressed flowers expertise with them.

I decorated Pino Jupiter with some flower and leaf cutout buntings.

With the help of my cousin Marie, I made sure everyone’s seat was craft-ready.

Each crafter got a back issue of Candy Magazine to make their first presses.

I didn’t get to take a photo of the flowers before the crafters started pressing them. I had paper roses, statice, alstroemeria, carnations, million stars and queen anne’s lace.

After learning how to press their own flowers, they started laying out their own designs with some Alaskan Flowers my Mom had pressed over 10 years ago.

I’ve been working with these flowers for months now, but it still amazes me how these flowers have been preserved all these years.

Like the last time I worked on pressed flowers with others, this workshop was oddly quiet. Everyone was in the zone, and barely had time to chika!

Like my Mom always says, you’ll definitely look at flowers differently here on in.

Participants made two pieces each, on average. I let them choose their favorite piece. We put them up head to head. My mom had agreed to pick the winning piece, but due to wifi troubles, we put it up for a vote instead.

Karina won with this beautiful bouquet-like piece using a combination of flowers and leaves.

Though very quiet, and definitely not rowdy, everyone had a blast!

All the pieces they made were so beautiful. Everyone had their own style.

When I got home, I shared photos of the pieces with my Mom. She still wanted to vote for the best ones. Congratulations to all of you guys!
