I Try DIY

I’m now coming from a self-imposed friendship bracelet making break. For the last couple months, I was eating, breathing, and dreaming bracelets and patterns. Going through withdrawals, I wanted to make a new one. One that was quite simple, requiring no patterns. So, this is what I came up with.

I chose three colors. For this project, I used DMC thread colors 333, 720 and 3809. I cut four strands each (two long ones folded in half). Separating each color, I made three separate bands using a basic candy stripe pattern.

After reaching a good enough length, I braided the three bands.

I then split the strands into two groups, two of each strand color per group. To hold the groups in place, I made three spiral (chinese) staircase knots around each group. Braiding the remainder of the thread to finish the bracelet off.

This bracelet took me all but an hour to make! Easy breezy!
